He enlisted in Valcartier, Quebec on Sep 22, 1914.

Thomas sailed from Canada on Oct 3, 1914 and landed at Plymouth on board the Tyrolia on Oct 14. He was 5’4½” tall declared fit and healthy at the time he enlisted, it was noted that he had smallpox scars. His service record shows a couple of minor disciplinary offenses, including being drunk only 6 days before he died. A portion of his pay was forfeited.

He was seen to be wounded, possibly as a casualty of the German gas attack and was then listed as missing on Apr 23, 1915. He was declared dead on Apr 29, 1916.

Son of Frank Hall and Ellen (nee Harthey) Hall. Brother of Elizabeth, John Edward (died 1909), Frank (died 1897) and Jesse. Half-brother of Wilfred Harry Hoskins (died 1900), Frank (died 1901), May and Lily.
