"The new baby, Ette, was not quite two when Robert sent Jane and the younger children to Ogden for a visit with Jane's mother, Elizabeth the summer of 1875. On her visit the baby, Ette, became ill. Her condition worsened rapidly and before there was time to notify her husband, the little girl died and was buried in the Ogden City Cemetery.
