Harald Frithjof Bruun

April 23, 1918 - October 15, 2013

Harald was born in Seattle Washington to Dagny and Alexander Bruun. He graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Pacific Lutheran College where he met the love of his life, Helen Ingrid Youngren. He left college in 1943 to serve with the Navy in the South Pacific until 1946. On October 4, 1947 he and Helen were married. He attended the University of Washington until taking a job with The Boeing Company. He retired in 1981. Harald loved his Lord Jesus, and was active in his church, Denny Park Lutheran. He was a gifted watercolorist, harmonica player and wood worker. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Helen, his daughter, Carol Bruun, his brothers and one sister. He is survived by his sister Ruth Chavers, Brother-in-law Herbert Youngren, son John (Susan Meister), grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah Lacy), Lindsey (Michael Kaspar), and Bailee, as well as two precious great grandchildren, Hadassah and Judah Kaspar, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.

A graveside service will be held on Monday October 21st at 10:00 AM at Evergreen Washelli at 11111 Aurora Ave. N., Seattle in the Pacific Lutheran section. A reception will immediately follow. There will also be a memorial service on Wednesday October 23rd at 10:00 AM at Bonaventure Senior Living at 4528 Intelco Loop in Lacey Washington immediately followed by a reception. Family and friends are welcome at both services. Memorial donations in Harald's name may be made to Operation Nightwatch, PO Box 21181 Seattle, WA 98111.
