"Freeman R. (Ralph) Derby, who was for many years a resident of Portland, passed away at San Marino, California, New Year's day. He was 70 years of age and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Derby.
He left Portland to make his home in California about 35 years ago and has since been employed in San Marino by the Robeling Company.
He is survived by the widow, Pauline W.; three brothers, Otto, of Evart; Victor, of Otsego; and Hugh, of Portland, and one sister, Miss Millie Derby, also of Portland.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning, January 3, with interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at San Marino, California."
