Mrs. Julia M. Cummings, 49, formerly of Stamford and the wife of Homer S. Cummings, the former Attorney General, died unexpectedly at her home in Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Cummings was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Alter of Chicago and the Attorney General's fourth wife. The couple had no children.
The family physician said that she had been ill for a number of years and had high blood pressure, but the cause of death was not known pending an autopsy.
Private services will be held in Stamford, Connecticut.
