Charol B. Williams, Sr., 62, 12291 W. River Road, died Friday at his home after a lengthy illness. Mr. Williams was born in Muncie and attended Yorktown schools. He was a chainsaw supervisor for N.G. Gilbert, Yorktown, retiring in 1984.

He had been superintendent and past chairman of the board of Mount Pleasant Community Church. He was a veteran of the Navy and a member and past commander of American Legion Post 321, Yorktown.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Kaye Williams; a daughter and son-in-law, Tina K. and Robbie Reagan, Yorktown; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Eugene and Kathy Williams, Muncie, and Charol Williams Jr., Pendleton; a stepson, Daniel Mathias, Honolulu; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Maggie and Fred Writtenhouse, Joy and Paul Boykin, and Barbara and Leon Ledsinger, all of Muncie; his mother-in-law, Helen Huffer, Yorktown; a brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and June Williams, Muncie; a sister, Vonda Reese, Yorktown; six grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and aunts.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Burial and graveside services by the American Legion will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling is 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
