GREENSBORO -- Mr. Walter Parker Blue, 88, formerly of 600 Ashland Drive died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 at Outlook Pointe assisted living in Greensboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002 in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.


Mr. Blue was a native of Greensboro and had lived here all his life he was a graduate of UNCG, and was a member of the Kawanis, where he helped with their Meals on Wheels program.
He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro and was a member of Revolution Lodge @#552 A.F. & A.M. He retired in 1979 from the Greensboro City Credit Union with 44 years of service. He served there as it's Manager/Sect/& Treasurer. He also served over the Greensboro police and Firemans Retirement Fund, and with the Greensboro Accounting Department.

He is survived by his wife Marion Yancy Blue of the home; daughters, Doris Marsh of Wendell, NC; and Alyce Smathers of Greensboro; sister, Alice Ageon of Greensboro; and a granddaughter, Gina D. Owens of Gibsonville, NC; and a great-grandson, Steven L. Owens of Wilmington, NC.
