Marian D. Bahr, age 90, of River Wood Estates, 950 South Rapids Road, Manitowoc formerly of 1503 Ahrens Street, Manitowoc, WI entered eternal life Sunday, December 1, 2013 at River Wood Estates where she had been residing since March of this year.

Marian was born February 4, 1923 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Hilary and Irene Ziebell Freund. She attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1941 and was employed at Manitowoc Company from 1942 to 1950. On June 17, 1950 she married Walter O. Bahr Jr. at First German Ev. Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1999. Marian was baptized, confirmed, married and was a faithful life time member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid of First German Ev. Lutheran Church, the Rahr-West Art Museum, Wisconsin Maritime Museum, Manitowoc Historical Society, Manitowoc Public Library, Lincoln Park Zoological Society and Woodland Dunes. Marian volunteered at Memorial Hospital, Capitol Civic Center, Angel Association at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center and Repeat Performance. She enjoyed golfing , traveling with her husband, outings at the family cottage at Pigeon Lake and watching the Green Bay Packers.

She is survived by three children: Constance (Robert) Nickel, Thornfield, MO ; Margaret (James) Anibas, Anchorage, AK; Walter "Chip" O. (Ruhama) Bahr III, Burlington, WI; four grandchildren: Megan Prescott Banerjee, Elizabeth Anibas Eunice, Stephenson S. Prescott, Cassandra H. Anibas; two great grandchildren: Faith H. Eunice and Walter A. Eunice III; sister-in-law: Dorothy Freund; nephews, cousins along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Hilary and Irene Freund; husband: Walter Bahr Jr.; one brother: William Freund.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, 1033 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Benjamin Schaefer with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and then at First German Ev. Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
