Pauline, SC

Mrs. Dora Davis Scoggins, age 88 of 1961 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Pauline, widow of Roy Scoggins, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Scoggins was first married to the late Ralph Davis.

Mrs. Scoggins was born August 10, 1925, a daughter of the late Lee Smith and Clara Alexander Smith. She was a former hostess for the Fairforest Hotel and retired from Fincher's Restarant. Mrs. Scoggins was a member of Union Church of God where she had been a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class but had been attending Padgett's Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Trudy Rhinehart and husband Paul of Union; a son, Larry Davis and wife Becky of Buffalo; two sisters: Louise Guyton of Union and Shirley Vanderford and husband JB of Cross Hill; eight grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Scoggins was predeceased by two sisters: Maude Black and Pearl Hunt.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Union Church of God conducted by Rev. Carroll Caldwell. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Ralph Larry Davis, Jr, Ralph Allen Fleming, Harold Eric Fleming, Paul John Rhinehart, Jr. and Jamie Christopher Davis.

Visitation will be held Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Trudy and Paul Rhinehart, 130 Simmons Rd., Union.
