Percival "Percy" Larry Ambeau, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the age of 78, after a short battle with cancer.
He is survived by one daughter, Patrice Royal (Curry); three sons, Percival Jr. (Mary), Marvin Sr. (Angequella), and Gerald; two step-daughters, Melanie Slack and LyDia Poindexter; one step-son, Dwight Domengeaux Sr.; four sisters-in-law, Carol Clark, Beverly Kellogg, Mildred Ambeau, and Jean Ambeau; one brother-in-law, Rudolph Williams; one daughter-in-law, Silverine Ambeau; two step-daughters-in-law, Theresa Domengeaux and Sylvia Poindexter. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews to cherish his memories.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Polly Riley Ambeau; his father, Louis Ambeau Sr.; his beloved wife, Lorraine Ambeau; three sisters, Mabel Ambeau, Hilda Jackson, and Arah Jackson; five brothers, Donald , Louis Jr., Lloyd, Lucien Sr, and Nelson Ambeau Sr; his son, Michael Ambeau; three step-sons, Lester Domengeaux, Melvin Domengeaux Sr., and Bryan Poindexter Sr.; and one step-daughter, Donna P. Brown.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Home Going Celebration on Monday, March 7, 2011 at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy, NOLA. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in Providence Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
