COPAS, Michael L.Age 57. Passed away December 23, 2008 following complications from transplant surgery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd "Cowboy" Copas and Lucille Copas Donlon, and brother, Gary Copas. Survived by wife, Linda Copas and sister, Katha Hughes of Nashville. Mike was a member of the Vine Street Christian Church, an avid racquetball player and a superb cook. He was a graduate of Belmont University, and spent the last 15 years working for the Tennessee State Department of Education. Mike was a true friend to many who knew him for his wit and wonderful sense of humor; a caring person who would go out of his way to help others. He held a special place in his heart for animals and people with disabilities. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nashville Humane Association. Visitation to be held Friday, December 26, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, December 27, 2008 from 11-1 p.m., at Marshall-Donnelly Combs Funeral Home.
