Raymond was the oldest of two children born to Raymond Alfred and Enid Roberta (Moffitt) Perry. He married Priscilla Jane Greene and they had one daughter: Holli Desiree.

Raymond Lowell Perry

ALBEMARLE -- Mr. Perry was born February 26, 1939 and died November 23, 2003. He was a 1957 graduate of Troy High School and a 1961 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill where he joined Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He was an Eagle Scout of Troop 81 in Troy, and served in the Army Reserves from 1961 to 1967.
For twenty-one years, he owned and operated Perry Furniture Company in Troy. Later, he worked in textiles in Albemarle until he retired to develop a business from his beekeeping hobby. He developed Uwharrie Mountain Honey Company and produced numerous products from the hive. He was a member of Stanly County Beekeepers and the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association where he served as a State Director and a member of the North Carolina Zoo Committee. He earned the Master Craftsman in Beekeeping from NC State in March, 2003.
Lowell was a member of First Baptist Church of Troy and the Genesis Bible Study Class. He was a member of the Albemarle Lions Club, and he served his community as President of the River Haven Association.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Priscilla G. Perry of the home; a daughter, Holli P. Britt; a granddaughter, Jessica Lauren Britt; a son-in-law, Jason L. Britt, all of Fayetteville; his mother, Enid M. Perry of Troy; and a sister, Janno P. Daniel of Troy.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Troy at 6 p.m. on November 26, 2003. The family requests no flowers, but memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Troy, 401 East Main Street, Troy, NC 27371, Boy Scout Troop 81, 401 East Main Street, Troy, NC 27371, Hospice of Stanly County, 901 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001, or Alpha Delta Kappa XI Chapter Scholarship Fund, 9987 Richard Sandy Road, Oakboro, NC 28129.
