Rachel Lynn Thompson Howell, 69, of Bethlehem, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, December 9, 2013, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Ted and Alleen Thompson. In addition to both her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven Scott Howell; one sister, Thea Lewis. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert Howell of the home; three sons, Robert Douglas Jr. and wife Julia Howell, Todd and wife Kim Howell, Scott and wife Sherrie Howell all of Bethlehem, NC; five sisters, Nolene Bramer of Iowa, Colene Sayers of Ohio, Beverly Kelley of Ohio, Barby Travis of Missouri, and Debbie Wilson of Alabama; seven grandchildren, Bambi Howell, Brandi Walker, Tuffer Howell, Colt Howell, T'neal Herman, Zeke Howell, and Luke Howell; four great-grandchildren, Anna Kaylor, Lane Kaylor, Haley Walker, and Carson Walker. The funeral service was held Sunday, December 15, 2013, 10:00 AM, at Rock Chapel Church of God in Granite Falls with Rev. Nathan Leasure and Rev. Ron Leasure officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Mackie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
