LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Johnny Watkins, 61, of Beechwood Drive, London, Ky., passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Born April 28, 1952 in Berea, Ky., he was the son of the late William Jennings Watkins and Lucy White Watkins.
Watkins was a business owner of the Chrysler dealership and a member of Grace Fellowship Church in London.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Elza Watkins of London, Ky., and his sister, Linda Sandlin (and husband Jake) of Manchester, Ky. He is the brother-in-law of Ralph and Linda Sizemore of London, Ky.; Judy Johnson of London, Ky.; Paul and Judy Elza of East Bernstadt, Ky.; Charles and Carol Elza of Atlanta, Ga.; and Wendell and Kim Elza of London.
Funeral service was held Friday, June 28 at 2 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church. Pastor Dale Campbell and Rev. Jerry Watkins officiated.
Burial followed in the Gill-Elza-Swanner Cemetery in East Bernstadt, Ky.
Pallbearers were David Smith, Doug Collins, Gary Gentry, Bob Surface, Wes Allen and Alan Bray.
Visitation was held Thursday at 6 p.m. at London Funeral Home, and was held Friday from noon until the funeral hour at Grace Fellowship Church.
