Robert Hammett Dunbar, age 82 of Nashville, TN passed away December 12, 2013.

Mr. Dunbar was born April 11, 1931 in Roxbury, MA to Alfred and Helen Hobart Dunbar.

He moved to Nashville to attend the Auto-Diesel college. Over the years he worked as a welder for the Nashville Bridge Company and Reese Sheet Metal, as well as retiring after 28 years of service with Matlock Trucking and Trailer. While working for Nashville Bridge, he met and later married the former Betty Ruth Boyd. He loved cars and loved working on them. He attended Jackson Park Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty; daughter, Dianne (Ricky) Taylor; granddaughters, Christi and Kathy Taylor; many nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Mr. Dunbar's life will be conducted at 11 A.M., Monday, December 16, 2013 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Brother Jim Olive officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 PM until 6 PM on Sunday and 9 AM until 10:45 AM on Monday, prior to the service at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
