Walter Cook, Sr., aged 96 years, one of the old time residents of Baker and Clay County, passed away Friday at his home near Baker. Mr. Cook was one of the oldest residents of the county, having lived here for 40 years. He was born in England June 27, 1928, and came to Canada in 1854, remaining there until 1882, after which he homesteaded a farm where he remained until his wife died in 1910, after which he went to live with his son, Walter, Jr. at Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Cook had nine children, seven of whom are now living: William, Ohio; Mrs. S.E. Hagen, Alberta; Mrs. H.H. Draper, Minneapolis; Mrs. C. Dresser, Los Angeles, CA; Mrs. M. Jones, Dilworth; Mrs. I. Henry, Calloway, and Walter Cook of Baker. There are 40 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren.
