Sophie Holman Ogilbe, sister of ex-U.S. Senator Rufus C. Holman and one of the oldest members of the Oregon Pioneer association, died Sunday at a Portland convalescent home. She was 94. Born January 28, 1856, Mrs. Ogilbe was the eldest of the children of Charles and Mary Holman, early Oregon pioneers. She was educated at St. Helen's Hall, a member of that institution's first graduating class and in 1881 was married to Horace W. Ogilbe.

She and her husband build one of the first homes on Palatine hill, at 01325 S.W. Palatine Hill road, where she lived with exception of ten years in California at the turn of the century.

Surviving her, besides her brother, are one daughter, Mrs. Carl Taylor, and a sister, Mrs. James A. Malarkey, both of Portland.

Mrs. Ogilbe was a life-long member of the Episcopal church. Her funeral will be Tuesday at 10 A.M. in the chapel at Riverview cemetery. J. P. Finley & Sons is in charge of arrangements.
