Luther E. Hankins, a former young man of this city, passed away in St. Louis March 24th, after a brief illness. Measles followed by pneumonia is ascribed as the cause of death. The deceased was a son of Aden and Elizabeth Hankins. He was born March 24, 1894 [note: this is incorrect, by the y-m-d calculation; should be March 2, 1894]. At death was aged 20 years and 22 days. His father and mother, one brother and two sisters survive, together with a host of other relatives. The deceased was a hard working young man and was considered honorable and upright by all who knew him. His death is a severe loss to his parents. The remains were brought to St. James Thursday. That afternoon the funeral services were conducted at the Adams graveyard by Frank Schneider.
