Miss Susan "Susie" Cheryl Marcum, age 57, of Toombs Nursing Home, Lyons, died early Wednesday morning, October 26, 2005 at Toombs Nursing Home of Lyons after an extended illness.

Miss Marcum was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County. She was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Howard Marcum and Pelma Ansley Marcum.

Survivors include: four sisters and their husbands, DeAnn and Ronald Odom of Lyons, GA, Donna "Polly" and Enoch Cowart of Reidsville, GA, Pam and Johnny Griggers of Lyons, GA, Brenda Waters of Glennville, GA; one brother, John H. Marcum, Jr. of Glennville, GA; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Miss Susan "Susie" Cheryl Marcum will be held Friday, October 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon from the Rocky Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Phillips and Rev. Kevin Moore officiating.

Interment will be in Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

The family will assemble at the residence of Pam and Johnny Griggers of 480 W. Oglethorpe Avenue, Lyons and will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening, October 27, 2005, from 6:00 until 9:00.
