Long Rites

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel for Mr. James Victor Long, 70, who died at his home in Nixon Tuesday, Feb.10, at 8 a.m. The Rev. Buddy Wilcoxen will officiate with interment to be in the Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12.
Mr. Long was married to the former Ara Jane Crawford on Sep. 4, 1920 in Corpus Christi and had resided in that city for a period of 50 years. At the time of his death he had, for three years, been serving as a night watchman for the city of Nixon. He was a retired employee of Gulf Oil Company.
Survivors include his widow; four sons, Jack W.of Corpus; June Lee of Guymon, Okla.; Tommy T. of New York City, N.Y. and Billy Wayne of Alice. One daughter p, Mrs. C. S. Burgner, Kansas City, Kan., also survives.
Other survivors include three brothers, Ted, Corpus Christi; Bennie, Conroe; Haskell, California and three sisters; Mrs. J. D. Button, San Antonio; Mrs. Tommy Thompson, Weslaco; Mrs. Peggy Sinnott, Boston, Mass.; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
