Long-Time City Resident Mrs. Moomaw Dies at 81
Mrs. Sophia L. Moomaw, 81, of 409 Naples, died today in a local hospital. She had lived in Corpus Christi since 1929.
Her husband, Paul W. Moomaw, who died in 1942, was a druggist and formerly operated the Moomaw Hospital Pharmacy, across from Spohn Hospital.
She was born in Hazen, Ark., and was member of the First Methodist Church, the Woman's Society of Christian Service, the Scott Study Club, and was a patron of the Thursday Music Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clifford A. Wallace, and a son, Paul W. Moomaw, Jr., both of Corpus Christi; a brother, Walter F. Hurt of Tulsa, Okla., and a grandson.
Funeral services will be Saturday in the sanctuary of the First Methodist Church with Dr. A. C. Bell, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Seaside Memorial Park under direction of Cage-Mills Funeral Home.
