Funeral for Aaron Preston Deats, 23, Lawton, will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Reyes, pastor, of Northwest Baptist Church, Lawton, officiating.
Aaron passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, in Lawton.
Burial with military honors will be in Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin.
He was born March 19, 1990, in Lawton, to David Franklin Beck Jr. and Marqueta Pauline Deats. He attended schools in Lawton, and joined the U.S. Navy in 2008. He was honorably discharged in 2011. He was a Logistics Specialist (LS3) and served sea duty aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69). His decorations included the National Defense Service Medal, Navy "E" Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon-2, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After his discharge from the Navy, Aaron worked at GEO for nine months, and was recently employed as the shift manager at KFC in Lawton. Aaron was kind-hearted, loving and never met a stranger. When he was two-years-old, he won the title of Mr. OKC (Baby Contest). Aaron loved to scuba dive, hunt and fish.
Survivors include his two sons: Cayden Deats and Jayce Wadusky; stepdaughter, Emmalynn Wadusky; his mother, Marqueta Deats, of Lawton; father, David Beck, of Longview, Texas; grandparents: Bobby and Dorothy Deats, of Lawton; a brother, Andrew Deats, of Lawton; sister, Morgan Love, of Lawton; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Fannie Pauline Deats.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
