PORTSMOUTH - Mary Shipley McCain, 65, of the 400 block of Hanbury Ave., a retired employee of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star, died Feb. 17, 1993, in Portsmouth.
Mrs. McCain, a native of Princess Anne County, was a Methodist. She had retired as an administrator in the general advertising department of VP/LS after 41 years of service. She was a past governor for the State of Virginia Pilot Clubs International. She was also a member of the Tidewater Region Antique Automobile Club of America.
Survivors include her husband, F.H. ''Mac'' McCain; one son, Roy C. Shipley of Virginia Beach; two stepdaughters, Janet L. Bartley and Kathy L. Triplett, and two stepsons, David A. McCain and Douglas N. McCain, all of Portsmouth; and one brother, John Dewberry of Tulsa, Okla.; and nine grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. James E. Powell Jr. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at 4512 McGregor Drive, Virginia Beach.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pilot Clubs International.
