Mrs. Katharina Best died last Tuesday night at the age of 26 years, 2 months and 22 days. She was the daughter of our fellow citizen August Menninger, who was afflicted so heavily the last years. She was born in Cincinnati in 1857 and came here in 1859 with her parents and siblings. She was among the best pupils of the local schools and grew up into a strong young lady to the joy of her parents. Last June she married Mr. Joseph Best, son of Mr. P. Best, and became sick two weeks ago. In spite of the most devout care which was provided her, her condition worsened and her suffering ended at 9:30 on last Tuesday evening. On Thursday afternoon after a funeral service in St. John's Church, she who was snatched so suddenly from her family was escorted by many to her final resting place.
