Horace was the son of Henry E. and Mary Novella (Casey) Whitfield. He married Dorothy Mae Edwards and they had one son: Morris Earl.

LIBERTY - Mr. Horace E. Whitfield, 80, of 145 West Patterson Ave., died Monday, May 8, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in Lakeview Memorial Park, Greensboro.
A native of Guilford County, Mr. Whitfield was a member of First Baptist Church, Revolution Masonic Lodge 571, Greensboro and was a past patron of the Eastern Star Rose Chapter 178. Mr. Whitfield retired from Cone Mills after 42 years of employment with the water department.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy E. Whitfield of the home; son, Morris E. Whitfield and wife, Wanda of Fayetteville; sister, Blanche W. Bell of Greensboro; and brother, Fred E. Whitfield of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends at the residence.

LIBERTY -- Horace E. Whitfield, 80, of 145 W. Patterson Ave. died Monday in Randolph Hospital.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro. Arrangements are being handled by Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty.
Among Mr. Whitfield's survivors are his wife, Dorothy E. Whitfield of the home; and a son, Morris E. Whitfield of Fayetteville.
