There are 135 Ancient (pre-1880) Cemeteries located among the 15 towns in all of Barnstable County on Cape Cod, and it is well documented that less than 20 gravestones dated prior to the year 1700 have ever been found/recorded within them. Less than 15 of those stones still exist, and Jonathan Bangs's is not one of them. The oldest stone in all of Barnstable County is dated 1683, and there are no tombstones in any Eastham cemetery dated prior to year 1700. If located here, his is certainly an unmarked gravesite.
