Emmerson David Behrens, age 87 of the Town of Porterfield, WI passed away peacefully January 9, 2012 at the home of his son Randy with his wife and family by his side. He was born on the family farm in the Town of Porterfield on January 13, 1924, the son of the late Herman and Augusta Behrens.
Emmerson spent all of his life on the family farm and was married to Isabel Jane Frechette on June 14, 1947. They continued operation of the farm and quarry until his retirement. In later years, Emmerson enjoyed traveling, tinkering with his iron piles and riding his four wheeler around the farmland and quarry.
Emmerson is survived by his wife of 64 years Isabel;
six children: Diana (John) Wingers; Jeannie Peterson; David (Patti); Roxie (Steve) Stillman; Maxie (Wayne) Cech and Randy (Kris);
15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Shelly Stillman; three brothers and three sisters.
