Funeral Held For Mr. C.W. Lowrance

Service Conducted From the Residence of Mr. Oscar R. Mills - Interment In Oakwood.

The funeral service for Mr. Chas. W. Lowrance, veteran Southern Railway engineer, who died Thursday morning at his home in Knoxville, Tenn., was held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock fromt he residence of Mr. Lowrance's nephew, Mr. Oscar R. Mills, on Davie avenue, the service being conducted by Rev. M.T. Smathers, pastor of Broad Street Methodist church, assisted by Dr. J.H. Pressly, pastor of the First A.R.P. church. Interment was in the family plot in Oakwood cemetery.

The pall bearers were Messrs.
Hugh Cowles,
Charles Murdock,
L.B. Tomlinson,
N.D. Tomlin,
T.J. Drum,
Eugene Munday.

The flowers were in charge of Mrs. J.T. Tillery, assisted by Mesdames Charlie L. Brown, L.B. Tomlinson, Zeb Holcomb, A.C. Crouch, W.F. Roberts, J.C Brown, Arthur Beaver, Barron Mills and Miss Ruth Tomlinson.

Mrs. Ella Lowrance, widow of the deceased, accompanied the body here. Others attending the funeral from Knoxville were
Mrs. Elizabeth Whittenbarger,
and Mrs. L.A. McDonald.

The brothers and sisters in attendance were:
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lowrance
and Mr. Will Lowrance, of Chester;
Mrs. G.C. Mills, of Walnut Cove;
the nephews and nieces included the following:
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mills, of Walnut Cove;
Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Wooten, Statesville, Route 4;
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Deitz, Statesville;
Mr. and Mrs. Burt Godfrey
and Mr. and Mrs. Abner Guy, of Stony Point.
