Virgil B. Warn, age 83, of Toledo, passed away Monday, November 7th, 2005, in the Veteran Hospital, Ann Arbor. He was born February 25th, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio.

In August of 1947, Virgil married Elizabeth Virginia Ayres Warn Lewandowski (1925-2003) in Toledo, Ohio. One child, Charles Stanley Warn, was born of this union. Their mutual love of animals brought them together; they passed this love of animals on to their only child, Charles, as their legacy.

Virgil was employed with Blue Line for many years. He was an avid baseball fan following the Detroit Tigers passing on his love of baseball to his son, Charles. He also spent many years traveling and camping with his second wife, Jackie.

Virgil was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran receiving several medals including a Purple Heart for his service. As a veteran, he was a glider corps infantryman in the 82nd Airborne on D-Day.

In addition to his mother, Alta Culver Walker (1895-1972), Virgil was preceded in death by his brothers, Verl Clayton Walker (1912-1995) and Stanley Ray Walker (1914-1972).

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Jacqueline "Jackie" Zerby Warn;
his son, Charles Stanley Warn; seven step-children and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

The family received guests Friday from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Funeral services began at 12:00 p.m. at the cemetery. Officiating, Rev. Jerry S. Craig. Interment followed.

A special thanks was sent to the caregivers of the Extended Care Center Unit of the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor for the loving care and support they provided to Virgil and his family.
