Ira Mathews is Buried in Big Flats
Corning, March 5 - Ira Mathews, aged eighty-four years, one of the oldest residents of Quakenbush Hill, town of Corning, died Thursday afternoon. Mr. Mathews suffered a stroke of apoplexy Wednesday afternoon.
Mr. Mathews is survived by his widow, two sons, Ira, who lives at home, and Abe K. Mathews of Mulholland: one sister, Lydia A. Hubbell, of Reynoldsville, N.Y., two brothers, George Mathews of Watkins, and Alanson Mathews of Quakenbush Hill.
The funeral was held today at the house, burial being in Big Flats.
