PROVIDENCE, Ky. -- Willis B. Simpson, 70, died Tuesday night at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
He retired as principal of Providence High School in 1992. He was an educator for 41 years.
He was a World War II veteran, an elder at First Christian Church and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5484 and the Western Kentucky University "W" Club.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Camille (Wood); a daughter, Beckey Holder of Elberfeld, Ind.; two sons, Kelly of Milan, Ind., and Rusty of Plano, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Shane, Kyle, Jeremy, Maria, Krystal and Melissa Simpson and Benjamin Holder.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Providence High School gymnasium, with private burial.
There will be no visitation at Melton Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Willis B. Simpson educational scholarship fund at Oakland City University.
