Funeral for Dorothy D. Parks, 83, of Hillsboro will be Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Neil Blackston officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Parks, who died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at NHC Healthcare, was born January 14, 1931, in Alabama to Frances Hale and Rebbecca Rose Hale. Dorothy was a loving mother and great-grandmother who cheated at board games and was a practical joker. She loved her flowers and little dog. She was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

Survivors include her children, John Nance Sr., Linda Gillespie, Janis Shrout, Susan Parks and Tiny; two sisters, Lula Collins and Frances Terry; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Nance Jr., Doyle Collins, Al Roberts, Chris Thomason, Nick Borden and James Mereno.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clay Bryant and Jeff Blankenship.
