Great uncle Bert was born to Frank Patridge and Anna Florence Travis. At an early age he joined the circus in early 1900s. He was an elephant caretaker, assistant manager of the elephants, and worked for many different circus companies including Barnum and Bailey. He married Jeanette Wallace nee Kiegel. She deceased in May 15, 2000 in Denton, TX. He had many brothers and sisters, one of whom was my grandmother, Carrie Marguerite Patridge McNabb
Graveside services were held at 10:30 today in Seaside Memorial Park for Wilbert Burton Patridge, 79, who died Thursday in a local hospital after a long illnes.
Patridge, an elephant and horse trainer, made his home on Woolridge Road, between Staples and Airline Road. He moved here in 1955 from Mattoon, IL, where he may have been born.
Patridge was a member of First Christian Church in Mattoon, IL. His wife, Jeanette, survives him.
Clifford Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
