Tribute by his wife, Helen: Wes was born and grew up in Mellette township and graduated from Mellette High School class of 1930.
He served in a CCC camp in the Black Hills before moving to CA. He worked for Lockheed Aircraft Company for 31 years until retirement in 1975. On 29 Jan 1955, we married in Las Vegas, NV, and purchased our only home in Tujunga, CA.
As to his character- In my opinion, he was the most versatile person I have ever known. There was nothing he couldn't build or repair. He excelled in mechanics, but was also good with wood and building materials.
Wes was a very likable person and had a pleasing personality with many friends and admirers. He was honest, sincere, and loved life. He also loved South Dakota and especially the Black Hills.

Helen also wrote: I had been engaged to a young man in MN, but he passed away. After his death I had a chance to go to CA with a girlfriend. I liked it and decided to stay. Wes and I worked together at Lockheed. We dated and married, but we met too late to have children.
