Gabriel "Breadman" was predeceased by his mother Agapita Fernandez-Jeantete; brother Arnold Jeantete; niece Susan Romero; and his partner Anita Padilla.

Gabriel was survived by his father Gabriel E. Jeantete; children: Paul Jeantete (Stephanie), Sarah Sparks (Sam), Gabriel T. Jeantete (Susan) and Michaela Jeantete; mother of his children, Doris O. Vasquez; grandsons: Joaquin and Isaiah; brothers: Richard Jeantete (Marbella), Henry Jeantete (Imelda), Charles Jeantete (Doris), John Jeantete (Karen Salazar); sisters: Christine Romero (Richard) and Bernadette Jeantete (Rick Archuleta); sister-in-law Angie Jeantete; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gabriel was a dearly loved dad, grandpa, brother and uncle. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1967. He served in the United States Army from May 1971 to December 1972. He then earned his degree in horticulture from New Mexico State University. He was employed at a few different companies and agencies, but spent the majority of his working career as a specialist in home renovation. He loved working with his hands. His artistic touches and renovations are present in many of the homes of Northern New Mexico, including those of his family and friends. Gabe had a passion for reading and spent countless hours with books and his daily newspapers. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He was a charismatic, loving man which endeared him to all he met. He gave and shared all he had without hesitation, always with a big heart and warm laughter.

Funeral Mass was on 22 Jan 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Taos. Interment followed in Las Cruces Cemetery in Taos.
