Lawrence Cawyer Tucker, 79 of Norwood, passed away Thursday morning January 23, 2014 at his home.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Porter United Methodist Church. Rev. David McCauley will officiate and burial will follow in Porter Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8:00, Friday evening, January 24, 2014 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
Lawrence was born May 11, 1934 in Stanly County to the late Henry David Tucker and Auta Harvell Tucker.
He was an active member of Porter United Methodist Church and a retiree of Stanly Fixtures. Lawrence loved being a truck driver and working on his John Deere tractors. However, he was most passionate about his family and spent his retirement years traveling with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Swaringen Tucker of the home; daughters, Pamela Tucker Hinson and husband, Tommy and Jennifer Tucker Guignard and husband, Billy all of Unionville, NC; sister, Kay Foster of Locust; grandchildren, Maggie Caroline Hinson, Betsy Clair Hinson and Tucker Samuel Guignard.
