Cornelia (Tappen) Clinton was born November 19, 1800 in Kingston, New York to Petrus Stoffelse Tappen aka Peter Tappen and Tjaatje Cornelise Wynkoop. She married George Clinton who later became Vice President of the United States under Jefferson and Madison presidencies. They became the parents of Catherine, George, Cornelia, Elizabeth, Martha and Maria. Cornelia died on March 15, 1800 in Greenwich, New York.
