Mrs. Bertha Todd died at her home in Mason on Friday afternoon, 25 July. She was a descendant of one of the noble families of the Rhine Valley in Germany. She had lived in Mason since 1859. Miss Bertha Mebus married G.W. Todd on 10 November 1865. Mrs. Todd was a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South since 1873, and her home was always the place of rest for the ministers of that day when they had to travel long distances between their calls. She was preceded in death by her husband and four children.

Services for Mrs. Todd were held in the Methodist Episcopal Church South officiated by Rev. G.T. Gibbons, and assisted by Rev. J.J. Ray, Rev. M. Heinrich.

Survived by six children - Mrs. M.A. Hamilton, Mrs. A.W. Koock, Mrs. E.H. Bogusch, E.H. Todd, Walter Todd, George Todd; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister - Mrs. Anna Martin; one brother - O.H. Mebus.
