"Gyrn M Proper, 86, of Franklin, RD 3, a former resident of 751 E Main St, died Wednesday at 8:35 pm in Grandview Health Care, Franklin. He had been a patient there six weeks. Mr Proper was born at Troy Township, April 11, 1889, a son of Samuel and Melissa Edmonston Proper. He married the former Mary Herman on May 31, 1928, at Meadville. Mrs Proper survives. Mr Proper had been employed by the Forge Works Division of Struthers Wells as an electric welder for 37 years. He retired in 1961. He attended Titusville First Methodist Church while residing here. Mr Proper was a member and past Noble Grand of Queen City Lodge 364, IOOF. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs Fred (Marie) Blackner of Erie, and Mrs Rodney (Judith) Shreffer of Franklin, RD 3; a son, Meredith of Centerville, RD 1; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Five brothers died previously. Friends may call at the Gordon B Garrett Funeral Home...and attend the funeral service there Saturday at 1:30 pm with Rev R William Large, pastor of United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery."
