ANDERSON — Lolita "Toni" Gaither-Blackwell, 75, of Anderson, passed away Feb. 1, 2014, at home after battling a courageous fight with cancer.
Toni was born Feb. 2, 1938, to the late Charles and Naomi (Jordan) Floyd in Greenup, Kentucky.
A successful business woman, Toni managed her late, first husband, Danny Gaither's music career. She also owned two local restaurants where she shared her love of cooking with others. A beautiful mother, wife, and grandmother, who had enormous strength and nurtured anyone she came to know. She loved unconditionally with a loyal and compassionate heart.
She married Lester Blackwell on Oct. 28, 2003, after they dated for 17 years. He survives. Other survivors include daughter, Trina Gaither of Lapel; sister, Sara Slack of Wheelersburg, Ohio; grandchildren, AJ and Gabby Gaither, both of Indianapolis, Stephanie Hodson of Noblesville, Morgan and Mackenzie Oren of Lapel, and Ian McClurg of Anderson; many nieces, nephews and several friends.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Nic and Mitchell Gaither; and brother, Ralph Gill.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of services. Entombment will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
