"Mrs. Ruth V. Crum, age 83, of Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014, in the Christian Care Center of Johnson City. Mrs. Crum was a native of Royal Oak, Michigan who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Chassie Lovelace Verran. In addition to her parents her husband, Howard Crum also preceded her in death. Mrs. Crum was a homemaker. She attended Bethany Presbyterian Church, Kingsport. Survivors include two sons, Dan Allison and his wife Linda and Joe Allison and his wife Judy; two daughters, Debbie Brown and her husband Wayne and Pauli Campbell and her husband David; one brother, Frank Verran; one sister, Peggy Riddle; eight grandchildren, Keith Allison, Heather Vanderstelt, Allison Lancaster, Christopher Brown, Charlie Osborne, Cody Osborne, Carla Campbell and Caleb Campbell; five great grandchildren. The family of Mrs. Ruth V. Crum will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Saturday, February 8, 2014, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Chaplain Dwight MacPherson will officiate. The interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends."
