Celeste Callahan passed to her heavenly reward June 6, 2003 at the age of 75, in San Jose. Cissy was born and raised in Seattle, Washington; she met and married her husband, Norman at the University of Washington.

Cissy and Norman raised their family in Seattle, Kansas City and Los Angeles. She spent the last years of her life close to her children & grandchildren in San Jose.

Cissy's sense of humor was revealed early on, when she declared in her high school yearbook that her ambition was, 'to be a firefly, so I can glow at night'. Cissy was well known for her gardening abilities, and doted on her pet dogs. She was an avid golfer and LA Dodgers baseball fan.

Her family is comforted to know that Cissy has joined her husband and oldest son in heaven. She is survived by seven sons and daughters, 13 grandchildren, dozens of grateful pets, and hundreds of well-tended plants.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Cissy's name may be made to local chapters of the SPCA. Funeral Mass Today June 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 5111 San Felipe Rd., San Jose. Burial Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City, CA.
