Leo R. Laque, age 77, of 2710 11th St., Two Rivers, died peacefully
on Sunday morning, Sept. 28, 2008, at his residence, surrounded by
his loving family.
Leo was born on Feb. 22, 1931, in Two Rivers, to the late Raymond
and Octavia (LePine) Laque. He attended St. Mark's Catholic Grade
School and Washington High School, Two Rivers. Leo is a veteran of
the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1953 to 1957. On June 18,
1960, he married Lucille Malchek at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Tisch Mills. Together the couple operated a farm in the town of
Newton for many years. Leo also owned and operated his own
carpentry business for several years, and worked in custodial
maintenance for St. Mark's School and Washington High School, Two
Rivers. He recently joined the American Legion Post 165 of Two
Rivers, and he enjoyed woodworking, home remodeling and watching
sporting events.
Survivors include his wife: Lucille Laque; two sons: Dan Laque and fiance,
Denise Perkins, of Manitowoc, and Dennis Laque of Valders; one daughter
and son-in-law: Kristy and Michael Knauer, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren:
Jeff (Ashley) Ellenbecker; Rebecca Ellenbecker; Brianna Laque; Jack
McConnell; Amanda Laque; Billy McConnell; and Robert Knauer; two
great-grandchildren: Cadyn and Sydney. He is further survived by a
sister-in-law: Caroline Malchek, Mishicot; two nieces, three nephews
and their families. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by one sister: Sister Marie Laque; and a brother-in-law: Norbert Malchek.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2,
2008, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers.
Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev.
William G. O'Brien, with entombment to follow in Calvary Mausoleum,
Manitowoc. Military graveside rites will be accorded by members of
the VFW and American Legion Post of Two Rivers.
Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St.,
Two Rivers, from 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening. A parish prayer
service will be held at 7:30 p.m., led by Father Bill.
Visitation will continue on Thursday morning, Oct. 2, 2008, at the
church, after 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.

family.
