PRINCETON — Meda Bailey Williams, 98, of GlenWood Park Retirement Village, Princeton, died Wednesday, March 12, 2009 at her home. Born December 14, 1910 at Matoaka, she was the daughter of the late Leander P. Bailey and Ida Godfrey Bailey.
Mrs. Bailey was a retired school teacher having taught at Springton and other schools in Mercer County. She was a member of Giatto Bailey Memorial Church at Giatto. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Percy Williams in 1985; three brothers, Everett Bailey, Olaf W. Bailey and Ernest G. Bailey; and two sisters, Beulah Stephens and Hazel France. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Kenneth Price officiating. Entombment will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum in Princeton.
