Carlton Jennings Stoops, 71, of Deerwalk died at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital Wednesday Morning.
He was born in Waverly, son of the late A.O. and Martha Stephens Stoops. He was retired from Union Carbide in Marietta and was a member of the Middle Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ether Roberts Stoops; three sons, Donald G of Deerwalk, Ronald of Dutch Ridge and Monzell D of Cedar Grove; three sisters, Vada Brum of Waverly, Blanche Lemley of Vienna and Naomi Freshwater of Canton, OH; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
The funeral will be at 2 pm Friday at the Ogdin Funeral Home, with the Rev Ernest C Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
