David "Boss", of Taos, was predeceased by his father Leo G. Salazar and brother Michael A. Salazar.

David was survived by his mother Lydia M. Salazar; siblings: Rick Salazar, Loretta Salazar de Herrera (Hugo), Ernest Salazar, and Leonard Salazar; nephews and nieces: Nicholas, Huguito, Alejandro, Carolina, Jacob, Jason, Jeannie, and Justin; and many other relatives and friends.

A Rosary was recited on 7 Feb 2014. Funeral Mass was on 8 Feb 2014. Both services were at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment was in the Dolores Cemetery in Cañon.
