July 8, 1931 - February 13, 2014 William F. Blewett, Jr. passed away February 13th in Camarillo, CA. A third generation Los Angeles native, Bill was born into the legendary Blewett athletic family of the city's early years to William F. Blewett and Helene Norton Blewett.

He attended Dorsey High School where he was president of his Senior Class and a standout football and track athlete. Bill graduated from Pepperdine University and went on to USC to pursue a Master's Degree. His business career spanned twenty five years in the insurance industry but his most cherished years involved coaching high school pole-vaulters, developing many into college, world and Olympic competitors. In 1988 he was invited to Paris to assist in coaching the French Olympic Team pole vaulters in preparation for the Olympics. His advanced pole vaulting techniques have been integrated into many national and international training programs.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, his niece, his nephew, and three grand-nieces. At Bill's request burial services will be private at the Blewett Family Memorial plot at Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles.
