Herman H. Geitner, age 68 of Route 1, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, died Friday at Memorial Hospital of cerebral hemorrhage. He had been ill for one month.
He was born in Door County June 1, 1897 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Geitner.

He was the first resident to have cottages on the Bay Shore and still ran them. He was in the grocery business for 20 years and had a tavern for 18 years.

He married Elsie Thenell at Sturgeon Bay September 9, 1915 and she died October 15, 1961.
He married Mabel Cochenet at Sturgeon Bay February 27, 1965.

Surviving are his wife Mabel;
two daughters: Dorothy (Joseph) Gmach of Sheboygan, Wisconsin and June (North) Birmingham of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin;
a son Robert of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin;
10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
two step-daughters Rebecca (George) Goetz of San Diego, California and Susan at home;
one step-son Douglas Cochenet of Markesan, Wisconsin
and four step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 pm at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Theo Baganz officiated and burial was in Bayside Cemetery.
