EDGERTON - George Herman Leitz, 86, a retired farmer and long time resident of Fulton Township, died Monday morning in Edgerton Community Hospital where he had been a patient several days. Mr. Leitz had been in failing health since November. He was born Feb. 10, 1878, in Germany, the son of Fredrick and Wilhelmina Krueger Leitz, and with his parents came to this country as a child, settling in Fulton Township. He married Eda Rodenz April 7, 1905, in Edgerton. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Edgerton. For the past several years Mr. Leitz had made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Howard Stokstad, rural Stoughton. Surviving are two sons, Verner, Rte. 2, Janesville; and Willard, of Edgerton; four daughters, Mrs. Stokstad, Mrs. Marvin Roberts, Waukesha, Mrs. Clarence Walker and Mrs. Ralph Schieldt, both of Edgerton; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Frank, of Albion. His wife, a daughter and two sons predeceased him. Burial will be in Fassett Cemetery.
