Actress. She was born in Cheshire, England. She is best remembered for her work on television, in series such as "The Grimleys" and "Eastenders." On stage, among others, she appeared in three plays at the National, including "John Gabriel Borkman," with Ralph Richardson and Peggy Ashcroft and later came Adrian Noble's production of "The Duchess of Malfi." She also starred on the big screen, most notably in "Tai Pan," "The Virgin Soldiers," "Princess Caraboo" with Kevin Kline and cult classic "The Abominable Dr Phibes," alongside Vincent Price and Terry-Thomas, playing the latter's housekeeper. She was still working four days before she died, and had recently filmed an episode of "Little Britain." She was cremated.
